York County AFC joins TLfC in 2026

November 11, 2025

Based out of York County, Maine, the club will debut in 2026, making it the first national, pre-professional soccer club in the county. Built on principles of accessibility, development and regional pride, the club exists to provide opportunities for players and fans across York County to unite through the game of soccer.

“Joining The League for Clubs marks an exciting step forward, not only for York County AFC, but for our entire region,” said David Townsend II, York County AFC President and CEO. “Our purpose is about more than soccer. It’s about creating connections, opportunity, and a shared identity for the people of York County. TLfC provides the right platform to develop players, inspire fans, and help build the broader soccer culture in our corner of the country. We’re proud to represent York County and contribute to the growing story of the beautiful game in the United States.”

York County AFC is expected to compete in the East Region. Finalized region and conference alignment is scheduled to be announced in January.

TLfC is actively speaking with clubs in New England about joining York County AFC in a newly-formed conference for the 2026 season. Updates will follow as the conference continues to take shape.
