Waco SC to join TLFC in 2027

August 28, 2026

The League for Clubs (TLFC) is excited to announce the addition of Waco Soccer Club for the 2027 season.

Waco SC was founded as FC Waco in 2018 and is relaunching in the 2027 season. The club has one mission - to give Waco, Texas a team that truly belongs to the city, with the local community at the center of its identity.

“This summer, Waco SC hosted 11 World Cup watch parties and brought over 3,500 people together around the beautiful game, all before playing a single competitive match. That told us everything we needed to know about this city,” said Waco SC Founder Jarrod Barton. “Waco doesn’t need a corporate soccer club, dropped in from the outside. This community deserves something built by their neighbors, for their neighbors, from the ground up. Joining The League for Clubs is just the beginning, and we want every person in Waco to feel like they are part of what comes next.”

The announcement of Waco SC signals continued growth in the state of Texas for TLFC. The 2025 season featured nine clubs from Texas, and 2026 featured 11 clubs across two separate conferences.

The state of Texas has also hosted both TLFC National Finals, at the Toyota Soccer Center in 2025 (Frisco) and Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium in 2026 (Denton).

Full conference and regional alignment for the 2027 season is expected to be announced around the first of the year.
