The League for Clubs (TLfC) is excited to welcome Oklahoma United FC, who will join in the upcoming 2026 season.
“We’re delighted to have Oklahoma United FC be a part of The League for Clubs for the upcoming season,” said Chairman and Oklahoma United FC co-founder Abudullah Ashraf. “Since establishing the club in 2024, our goal has been to provide high-quality, engaging and accessible soccer in Oklahoma City. Our entry into TLfC is another step towards delivering on these commitments”
“Competition drives improvement and development in soccer so we eagerly anticipate being put to the test against top-class opposition. Our fans were instrumental in supporting the team during our inaugural season and we look forward to seeing them back in Chad Richison Stadium when we get underway in May!”
Oklahoma United FC is a growing soccer club quickly establishing itself in the hearts and minds of Oklahoma City soccer fans. Under the Dawn Sports & Entertainment LLC umbrella, the club was formed in late 2024 and played its inaugural season last year. United garnered an average attendance of around 2,500 fans per game and saw over 7,000 for the grand opener.
Oklahoma United FC played in the NPSL’s Lone Star Conference in 2025, finishing third with 20 points from 10 matches played. The club plays its home matches at Chad Richison Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma. The 12,000-seat stadium is considered one of the best in NCAA Division II.
The club’s head coach is former Sporting KC goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen. At Sporting KC, Nielsen won the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2012 and an MLS Cup in 2013.
“The team and I are thrilled to be joining The League for Clubs for the upcoming season,” said Nielsen. “As a club, our goal is to play soccer at the highest level possible so joining TLfC was a natural decision. Our fans want to see us involved in high quality matches against good opposition and that’s what this league will provide.”=
