The theme of Week 9 in the NorCal Conference was big road wins. It also drives the conversation in this week's TOTW.
Fuego U23 won a thrilling match at league leaders San Ramon FC, landing three players on this week's team. Two early Fuego goals from David Valencia put the visitors on top, but San Ramon answered with three goals of their own. Fuego tied the match in the 85th minute and the comeback was completed when Alexander Rodriguez slotted home in the 87th minute to seal the 4-3 win. Fuego's Steven Randall also makes this week's team for his performance against one of the league's best attacking sides.
Last year's NorCal Champions Napa Valley 1839 FC also fell at home on a late goal, as Iron Rose FC came away with a 3-2 victory. Moshi Wilondja continues to put up eye-popping numbers with two more goals and an assist. His final goal in the 91st minute was the match winner. The Iron Rose performance was also bolstered by Luis Aguilar and Cole Rovegno, who helped take all three points back to Roseville.
Sonoma County Sol FC continues their rise up the standings with another clean sheet, winning 2-0 at CF San Rafael. Miles Monroe was a rock in defense for the road team, while Zach Batchelder's PK gave Sol their second goal to confirm all three points.
Another club coming home victorious was Afghan Premier FC, who won 1-0 at Oakland SC. Afghan Premier have allowed just one goal in their last three matches, so it should come as no surprise that goalkeeper Victor Rosales and defender Hasseb Babacarkhial make their way into this week's team.
The only home team to secure any points on Saturday was FC Davis. The Lions are now unbeaten in 18 regular season matches in TLfC. After trailing 3-0 early on, Davis stormed back to salvage a 3-3 draw, thanks in part to a standout performance from Andrew Roskos.
