The League for Clubs (TLfC) is pleased to announce the addition of Laredo Heat SC for the 2027 season.
Based in Laredo, Texas, the club also competes in USL League Two (USL2), where it won the Lone Star Division and advanced to the National Semifinals in 2026.
“We're excited to join The League for Clubs so our young players can test themselves against high quality opponents,” said Laredo Heat SC Owner Shashi Vaswani. “Laredo is very isolated and we have worked tirelessly to bring quality matches to our young players and fans. TLFC provides that, and we are looking forward to the opportunity.”
Laredo Heat SC joined the USL Premier Development League (PDL) in 2004, the year the club was founded. In 12 seasons in the PDL, Laredo appeared in four National Championship matches, winning the trophy in 2007.
The club competed in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) from 2018-2024, winning the Lone Star Conference twice. Since joining USL2 in 2025, Laredo Heat has won back-to-back division titles. Heat home matches are hosted at PEG Energy Stadium in Laredo. The stadium has a capacity of 4000 and has hosted the club’s home matches since 2024.
Laredo Heat SC is the second new club joining TLFC from Texas for the 2027 season, joining Waco SC, as the league’s presence in The Lone Star State continues to grow. Nine clubs from Texas played in TLFC’s inaugural season in 2025 and 11 clubs competed in the 2026 season.
Full conference and regional alignment for 2027 is expected to be announced around the beginning of the year.
